Course Outline
Introduction
Mental Health Tribunals can be extremely challenging for the practitioner, as they lie where the law and psychiatric medicine interact.
Consequently, within any Tribunal, there is reference to a great many medical concepts which are infrequently used elsewhere in legal practice. A full grasp, not only of the concepts themselves, but of the various arguments against them is essential for anyone practising in this area of law.
In addition, clients with mental disorders are amongst the most challenging, both to obtain coherent instructions from and to advise as to the law, Tribunal procedure and their prospects of success.
This live broadcast session is aimed at those interested in becoming members of the Mental Health Accreditation Scheme and existing members who are looking to maintain their core competencies, with a view to re-accreditation.
The live session is constantly updated and there will be scope for questions, discussions and the sharing of ideas.
