Course Outline
Introduction
Farming is going through massive changes with a move to farming for the environment and selling carbon credits. There is greater tax clarity needed in this area. The changes are matched with very high farm values and a lot of interest from the ‘rollover buyer’.
There are papers by the APPG suggesting the loss of APR and BPR for inheritance tax which has moved a lot of thoughts to lifetime gifting. CGT rates are at an all-time low and many are pushing for deals to be completely promptly. The end result is a lot of risks for the farm adviser with high quantum of values combined with an elderly farming client base sometimes resistant to change and clarity!
This webinar looks at ways to manage the risks through updated partnership agreements, full succession planning involving updated wills, farmland registration, business plans and connecting all the farming family to what lies ahead.
