Claire van Overdijk

Claire is a barrister at Outer Temple Chambers where she specialises in mental capacity law and proceedings under the health and welfare and property and affairs jurisdictions of the Court of Protection, as well as the Court's international jurisdiction. Claire has co-authored the leading text on the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection ('Court of Protection Practice' published by Jordans) as well as the leading text on cross-border mental capacity law ('The International Protection of Adults' published by Oxford University Press). She sits on the steering committee of the STEP Global Mental Capacity Special Interest Group and is also a part time member of the Law Faculty of University College London where she teaches private international law.
