This live and interactive 5 hour conference will cover the following:
10:00am-11:00am: Business Immigration Refusals - How Best to Challenge?
Chair: Sarah Pinder, Goldsmith Chambers
With fast-paced commercial sectors and industries as well as increasing labour shortages, this session will consider what is best practice and the most efficient way of dealing with refusals of applications.
It will include:
- How to try and pre-empt grounds of refusal and if a refusal is received
- How to assess the merits of a fresh application or a challenge by way of available legal remedies
- An overview of the do’s and don’ts of pre-action correspondence and judicial review challenges in the context of both sponsorship licence matters and individual applications

- How business immigration lawyers can best assist companies and businesses
- The type of business that may not have had to hold a licence previously for example, as a result of employing mostly EEA nationals pre-Brexit and the transition period ending

Employers found to be employing individuals who do not have appropriate immigration permission to work can face tough sanctions. It is therefore important to carry out compliant right to work checks and this session will cover all the latest developments.

With some sectors really struggling for workers, this session will consider possible short-term routes that may provide some solutions to businesses in the UK as the dust settles post-pandemic (or the worst of it) and post-Brexit.
