Introduction

The Housing and Planning Act 2016 introduced new powers and remedies in respect of unlawful eviction and harassment, as part of the current policy and legislative drive against 'rogue' landlords.

This live broadcast session will look at what constitutes an unlawful eviction and what other criminal offences and civil causes of action might be relevant in landlord and tenant disputes.

It will also examine the extension of rent repayment orders to cover unlawful eviction and harassment, and the introduction of banning orders.
