Introduction

Since family visit appeal rights were cancelled again, and ever since the Immigration Rules were overhauled in 2012 when Appendix FM and Appendix FM-SE were introduced for Article 8 family life applications, it has become essential to ensure that applications are well-prepared and evidentially comprehensive. This is especially the case now that we are entering a new post-Brexit landscape.

This webinar will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the most relevant categories and accompanying requirements for family-based applications, whether the purpose of the visa is temporary or more long-term.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • A summary of the relevant rules and requirements relating to family-based categories of immigration law.
  • The range of relevant rules covered will include more long-term categories such as those contained in Part 8 of the Immigration Rules and Appendix FM (including fiancé/fiancée) to more short-term categories such as family visitors, marriage visitors and dependants in work/business categories.
  • An overview of relevant and useful Home Office guidance
  • Some tips on the preparation of evidence and the conduct of applications so as to avoid applications being refused
  • What to do when applications are refused
