Introduction
Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPAs) are an important tool in the fight against corruption. DPAs in the UK enable corporate entities to avoid formal prosecution by agreeing to a set of conditions whereby prosecution is deferred for a period of time so long as the conditions prescribed are complied with.
In this virtual classroom seminar, we will examine the requirements and processes involved in obtaining a DPA; provide practical advice on the various stages of the DPA process; and discuss lessons learned from the twelve UK DPAs which have been agreed to date with the UK's Serious Fraud Office.
We will also consider future trends for DPAs and what corporates facing multi-jurisdictional investigations might need to consider in traversing this complicated enforcement landscape.
